St. Joseph CCSD #169 posts opening for school board

Earlier this week St. Joseph CCSD #169 announced a vacancy on the Board of Education.

Lois Hewerdine resigned from the board during the July 14th meeting.

“The district thanks Mrs. Hewerdine for her many years of service and leadership to the district,” said Superintendent Lance Landeck.

The district is currently accepting applications to fill the vacant seat on the Board of Education.

Applicants must be a US citizen, 18 years of age or older, aresident of the State of Illinois and resided within the boundaries of St. Joseph CCSD #169 for at a minimum the immediate last year, must be a registered voter, can not currently hold an incompatible elected position, and can not be a convicted child sex offender.

Applications for the vacant seat can be picked up during regular office hours at the district bookkeeping office located inside the Grade School at 404 S. 5th St., St. Joseph Illinois.

The deadline to return completed applications is 3:30 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025.

After screening the applicants, selected candidates will be invited to the September 15, 2025 Board of Education meeting to be interviewed by the Board.  It is the intent of the Board of Education to appoint an individual to fill the vacant seat during that same meeting.
