June 7, 2026 Local Stories in and Around St. Joseph, Illinois

Live at St. Joseph Village Board July 8, 2025

We are discussing the community festival and fee structures tonight.

There are no public comments.

Asking for some details on the bills. #fiscallyresponsible.

They approved the special event permit for the community festival. The festival is Aug. 7, 8 and 9. Here is a website I put together with information on the festival.

If you want to be in the parade please email me and I will get you the form.

They are discussing the fee schedule and a chart that could be made to put all the fees in one space.

Fees aren’t updated regularly. Zoning was updated in 2021.

Joe is saying the village needs to look at fees more frequently.

Sports fees will also be part of this. This sports fee/scheduling situation sounds messy. You know what would help this? A part time parks and rec director. Joe says they try to prioritize games over practices.

Jim Page saying that every sport should be paying fees as if they are not.

“It is getting to the point where we are overwhelmed with the logistics of so many teams, leagues and sports and managing and upkeeping the fields.”

#doeshewantaparksandrecdirector???

If you are interested in zoning they have two openings. Zoning is a great way to get involved. Contact the mayor if you are interested.

Ditch on 150- the state sprayed it so it’s all dead. The line got cut by someone driving over it. “I am assuming it wasn’t an essential cable for anything,” Page said. “So we are ready to go.” #weedsbegone.
