Live at St. Joseph Village Board, May 13, 2025

I am here so you don’t have to be. It’s Mayor Tami Fruhling-Voges’ last meeting and Jim Page’s first meeting as mayor.

It is also the last board meeting for Tammy Vallee, Max Painter, and Angela Page and the first board meeting for Andrea Childers, Steven Peters and Matt Walsh.

Thanks to MX Electric for sponsoring our live blogs.

The mayor is crying already. She honestly does love this town and loves the community and she has served for a very long time.

Mike Sennert is swearing in Jim Page now.
We have a new mayor.

Trustees being sworn in now.

They are doing group photos of the old board and then the new board. I am sure someone will post them somewhere if you want to see them.

Page is recognizing the former board. Saying they had to deal with TIF, personnel issues, solar “I could go on and on.”

Page is talking about how the board had to deal with Facebook trolls and other things.

Gave the outgoing board members a thank you gift. It’s a certificate in a nice frame.

Thanked Angela for getting him elected.

Now thanking Tami. He thanked her for her leadership and her willingness to tackle serious issues. Talking about Tami’s accomplishments. Sewer plant, getting rid of village committees, hiring the administrator, ect.

He gave her a really nice shadow box that the office staff put together.

Tami is thanking everyone for the support.

Now Page is thanking Joe for his help and how much Joe has taught him about how the village runs, ect. Page saying that a lot of people in town don’t understand how much Joe does and he wants everyone to know he has his full support. He’s also talking about Joe’s economic development recruitment knowledge.

Moving to the real meeting now.
Approved consent agenda including special use permits for the SJCOC Summer in the Street, Life Church CU Church Picnic and SJO5K.

Now discussing the street, curb and gutter maintenance. #COMEONSIDEWALKONPROSPECT #itwonthappen #Ifigethitwalkingmykidstoschoolimsuingeveryone.

It’s for maintenance not new sidewalks. Rapp abstained and so did Childers. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJjcbyo6uNyrU1TdMyyuJyEpT9l8Gpyl

They tabled a request to discuss sidewalk raising proposals.

Meeting adjourned.
