March 17, 2026 Local Stories in and Around St. Joseph, Illinois

Live at St. Joseph Village Board, Oct. 8, 2024

I am a tad behind but Jayne Deluce is here from Experience CU to ask for money. She’s talking about the conferences they bring to CU and the different athletic events, ect.

Last year they launched a new brand, Experience CU. It used to be Visit Champaign County.
I have been doing this for a very, very long time and I still cannot figure out if I think giving money to Experience CU is a good use of finances. They really focus on CU and I don’t know that I think anyone is coming out here for the one restaurant they advertise, the one store or the rail trail. But I will say the work they do for the Champaign, U of I and Urbana is top notch.

Deluce is saying Champaign is a film destination.

In other news, Just a reminder with sewer bills:
Sewer Billings are sent out at the end of the following months (in parenthesis are the months that will be billed for):
January        (December)
February       (January)
Mar                (February)
April              (March)
May               (April)
June              (May)

July               (June)
August          (July)
September    (August)
October         (September)
November     (October)
December     (November)

So the bill we just got was for water usage in September.

The village bases their sewer bill of the amount of water American Illinois Water says you are using because that is the amount of water that is going to the waste water treatment plant.

Talking about insurance for their properties, ect.

Talking about how successful CIMOA was.

Halloween trick or treating is Oct. 31 5:30 p.m to 8 p.m.

Halloween Parade is Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. meet at village hall.

Going into closed session, no action after.
