Cake Walk to take place tonight

A new event is taking place at the St. Joseph Community Festival tonight.

The PTC Cake Walk takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the south basketball court.
PTC member Lindsay Rubach said the idea for a cake walk was suggested on the St. Joseph Festival Facebook Page and the PTC jumped at the chance to make it happen.

Tickets are being sold for $1 each or six tickets for $5. Each ticket will give you one spot in a walk. A round will fill up, music will play and after a random amount of time, the music will stop. A number will be drawn, and the person standing on the picked number will win. That person will choose a number from the prize basket and will redeem the token for that cake.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to the St. Joseph PTC, Rubach said.

“All of our cakes and goodies have been donated, so there has been no cost to our organization to make this happen,” she said. “We are so very fortunate for a supportive community. Funds will be used to help support our St Joseph Schools and Teachers.”

The are more than 15 items in the walk include cakes, pies and cupcakes.
