Eye clinic aiming for March opening

2020 is the perfect year for an eye care service to open.

And St. Joseph is the perfect location for that to happen, said Elizabeth Coon the Marketing Director for Chittick Family Eye Care.

“We are always looking to provide high quality eye care services in smaller communities,”Coon said. “St. Joseph’s community is the perfect fit and one we have looked at joining for a long time.”

The eye clinic will be located at 226 E. Lincoln Street, which has been empty since a doctors office closed in 2014. The eye clinic has spent the fall and early winter remodeling the space.

“We will have a major addition to the building as well as major interior renovations,” Coon said.

Coon said Chittick Family Eye Care has been serving smaller communities since 1959. The company is a family owned business that strives to always care for their patients with skilled professionals, new technology, and the highest regard for patients’ well-being.

“We always embrace the latest technology in both medical eye care and vision care,” Coon said.

The clinic will open in March and will start taking appointments in April.

The clinic is working with the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce to schedule a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
