Athlete of the Month-Hannah Dukeman

Every month a committee of coaches selects a student-athlete of the month from nominees inseason coaches supply. We then ask them five questions.

Hannah Dukeman was nominated by Softball Head Coach Larry Sparks.

What is your favorite class at SJO?
Spanish with Señor. He makes the class interesting and fun. The subject isn’t my favorite but I enjoy the class because of the teacher.

What are your plans for after high school?
I am going to play softball at Ball State and major in something medical and possibly minor in foreign language.

What is the best thing about being a student athlete at SJO?
The support from teachers throughout the school. All the help we receive from the start is great and and it’s always good to see your teachers/staff in the stands.

What is the most difficult thing about being a student athlete at SJO?
With the new conference there are some late nights with longer drives so finding time to do school work and get rest can be difficult. Although, that has never really been a problem for me.

How does it make you feel to know your coach nominated you for Athlete of the Month?
It is great to know my handwork doesn’t go unnoticed but I am also thankful for all my coaches that have sculpted me into the person and player I am today.

The Coach Says
Hannah shows the ultimate respect to her coaches and peers and is always positive and cheering on her teammates- Larry Sparks
