Benefit to be held for Fisher family

Next Saturday the St. Joseph IGA and Wagner Signs and Graphics are coming together for a good cause.

From 7 a.m. to 11 am., on March 23, the two local businesses will be hosting a customer appreciation breakfast in the mini-mall located at 109 N. Main St.

The breakfast is free to the public and will include pancakes and sausage.

The businesses will be accepting donations to help Luke Fisher, a village employee, with medical bills.

Earlier this year, Fisher who is the assistant public works superintendent for the Village of St. Joseph was diagnosed with a serious and fast-spreading bacterial infection.

He had to have multiple surgeries and is off work for a few months while he recovers.

Todd Woods and Jim Wagner want to help.

“Luke is a great guy and we are happy to do this for him,” Wagner said. “The town is supportive of each other and helps each other out. Luke is no exception.”

To help the Fishers with their mounting medical bills and expenses, family and friends have created a GoFundMe page and any money collected during the breakfast will be donated directly to the family.

Wagner is also selling T-shirts that can be preordered at his shop located at 109 N. Main St. The shirts say Spartan Strong and all proceeds will go to the Fisher family.
