5 Questions with Republican caucus candidate Matt Walsh

1. What made you want to run?
I’m a lifelong resident of Saint Joseph and at the end of the day I want what’s best for the village. I may have my own opinions and views on things and that does not mean that it is what’s going to be best for the residents of Saint Joe.

2. What are the major challenges you believe are facing the village?
I think the hardest thing about what I’m going to face is going to be trying to please everyone in the community. As everyone knows you can’t make everyone happy all of the time.

3. What would be your four year goal for the village?
At this point, I don’t have a four year goal but one of my main priorities is the safety and well-being of our community. This includes but it’s not limited to golf cart traffic in Saint Joe. I love having a golf cart community, but everyone needs to follow the rules of the road and that definitely includes under age drivers.

4. What should people know about you?
I would like people to know that I’m not a career politician nor do I have aspirations to be such. I literally just want what is best for the community that I grew up in and still reside in.

5. How would your previous experiences benefit the board?
I wear a few hats, so to speak, in this community and I think that my public engagement with everyone makes it easier for everyone to come to me with concerns about any matters that are going on in the village.
