Chamber accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year.

The winners will be announced at the Chamber’s annual banquet in September.

The award winners should be people or businesses who help the community or volunteer their time.

Previous winners include: Mike Peters, Brian Brooks, BJ Hackler, The St. Joseph IGA and the St. Joseph Animal Hospital.

Nominations can be sent to Chamber President Nora Maberry at stjosephrecord@gmail.com.

In other news, Maberry, Jim Wagner and Susan McKinney were elected to the Board of Directors. Maberry, of the St. Joseph Record, will continue to serve as president, Wagner, of Wagner Signs and Graphics, will serve as vice president and McKinney, librarian of the St. Joseph Library, will serve as treasurer.

Steve Donberger, of the St. Joseph American Legion and Brady Smith of Loman Ray, were elected to the Executive Board.

Additionally, the Chamber is trying to bring back the Illini Chill Bike Race. Currently, the race is scheduled for February 2024. Anyone who is willing to help chair or plan the event should contact Maberry at stjosephrecord@gmail.com.
