The Village of St. Joseph is looking for an as needed Crossing Guard who seeks to join a team of dedicated professionals working in partnership with the community. Position Summary This position safely escorts pedestrians and reminds motorists of local traffic laws and regulations. Serves on an as-needed basis when the regular crossing guard in unavailable. Should have open availability during the school year, with the ability to work two separate half hour shifts in the morning and afternoon.  Key Responsibilities Summarized Responsible for safely escorting pedestrians across Warren Street (US Highway 150). Utilizes Village equipment (handheld stop sign and crosswalk) to ensure that pedestrians are highly visible to motorists. Education and/or Experience: HS Diploma or G.E.D. Compensation and Benefits Starting compensation is $22.50 per day worked. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
