Ogden Village Board to discuss recycling tonight

The Ogden Village Board discussed recycling again in May and will do so again tonight at their June meeting.

In May, Trustee Todd Newsom said he was tired of the recycling Dumpster which is housed in the village park.

Newsom said there is trash near the Dumpster and it is unsightly.

Newsom said he wanted the village to discontinue the service.

Trustee Sue Esposito said residents use the recycling Dumpster.

“Or it wouldn’t be full,” she said.

Mayor Gabe Clements said that the Dumpster is emptied it is full the next day.

“I am concerned what is in those bags when kids are playing at the park,” Clements said.

Esposito suggested adding another pickup during the week to eliminate the bags being sat outside the Dumpster.

Newsom suggested mailing a letter to village residents telling them they can get recycling through their garbage companies.

The board will discuss the matter further tonight at their board meeting held at village hall at 7 p.m.
