10 things you don’t know about me… Jeff Damler

Jeff Damler, is the Senior Vice President, Loan Officer, Branch Manager at Longview Bank in St. Joseph. Here are 10 things you may not know about him.

  1. What was the last book you read?  Soup by Jon Gordon.  Heard him speak once and I was sold.
  2. What is a TV Show or movie you can watch over and over again? Friends.  My wife and I usually fall asleep most nights with Friends reruns playing.
  3. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?  I think my mom always pushed the Golden Rule of “Treating others as you would like to be treated”.  When you take a step back before doing something and truly see yourself in the other person’s shoes and what they might be going through, I think you can make some pretty good decisions in life.  I have deleted emails and texts before after rereading something a few times before sending.
  4. Where is your favorite place to travel to?  Not a far road trip but hands down Lake Mattoon.  Our piece of paradise.
  5. What is something you always carry with you?  Phone.  I am not huge with social media but I call and text a lot.
  6. What is your favorite food?  Pizza, specifically Papa Dels.
  7. What is your favorite childhood memory?  Summers spent going to Indiana Beach at Lake Schafer, Indiana.  “There’s more than corn in Indiana!”
  8. What was the name of your first pet?  We had a beagle mix named Buster.
  9. What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?  Having 3 kids.  Every day is a adventure it seems.
  10. Who are three people you would like to have dinner with and why?  My grandpa Damler and grandma/grandpa Janson.  They all passed either before I was born or before I could remember them.  My grandma Damler was my favorite person as a kid so I always wish I could have met my other grandparents.
