PTC to host trunk or treat on Friday

St. Joseph PTC President Katie May loves the PTC Trunk or Treat event—and she hopes the community does as well.

“I love that it attracts so many people from the community,” she said. “PTC likes to reach out to the community and show what we do for the kids.”

This is the third year the PTC will be hosting the event. This year’s event takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the St. Joseph Middle School Parking lot.

The PTC held a contest to see which class could bring in the most candy to prevent a candy shortage which occurred during the first year of the event.

Anyone in the community, business or organization is welcomed to decorate their trunks and hand out treats to the children, May said.

“Parents can bring their kids to collect candy from the decorated trunks,” May said.

May said the PTC hosts the event in order to give the children of the community a safe space to Trick or Treat.

“No busy streets, no traffic, just a safe place where they can enjoy themselves and get lots of treats,” she said. “We are very excited to one again host this well-attended event for the kids and their families.”

May said the event has been well attended in the past and people often comment on how much they enjoy it. May said she and her family enjoy it as well.

“I really enjoy seeing the children in their costumes and the smiles on their faces when they get candy and treats,” she said. “I know my own kids love it. We had a huge attendance last year and I hope that many come out and support the event again this year.”
