Every week we ask a village official three questions. This week we asked Mayor Tami Fruhling-Voges three questions about the St. Joseph Community Festival.
What is your favorite thing about the festival?
The Community Festival is always an exciting event for the village. My favorite thing about the festival is that this festival has been going on for over 140 years. Growing up in this community it was the highlight of the summer.
Over time the festival would bring different reasons to be excited for attending. As a child, of course, it was the rides, as a high schooler it was the street dance hanging with your friends, as a young mother it was the excitement of my kids enjoying the festivities and now I love seeing our community continue the tradition.
It’s another good reason to love living in St. Joe.
What is your favorite fair food?
A fish sandwich from the St. Joseph American Legion is my favorite food at the festival.
Why should people attend?
Everyone should attend the festival because it’s a great way to support your community and enjoy the people who make up this wonderful village.
