Q and A with SJO Hall of Fame inductee Bianca Truitt Green

1. How does it feel to be inducted into the hall of fame?
I am ecstatic to be recognized in this way! It is really special to be acknowledged by a group that knows your WHOLE story – not just the part of your story that came after many years of hard work. It’s great!

2. What is your favorite memory from SJO?

This is an impossible question to answer as there are too many amazing memories of my time at SJO to pick a “favorite.” There is something magical about attending high school in a small town. I formed some of my strongest friendships at SJO and they continue to today. Whether we were trying hard to win Spirit Week, celebrating being the first SJO softball team to advance to the State tournament, or wreaking havoc at Six Flags during our senior trip – we did it together! The “together” memories are my favorites.

3. What is one thing you learned at SJO that you have taken with you into your professional world?
One thing I took from my time at SJO into the professional world was having to be accountable for my actions and choices. Parents and teachers seemed to work as a team back then and they expected all of us to make good choices – in and out of the classroom. That same “team” made sure we accepted responsibility when we fell short. Being accountable to yourself and others is the foundation for everything – particularly in the professional world and the high expectations instilled in us at SJO continue to serve me well.
