Mitch is running for the SJO School Board.

What motivated you to run for school board? I WANTED TO GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE ONCE OUR KIDS BEGAN ATTENDING SJO. .

What are your short term goals for the district? MAINTAIN HIGH QULITY EDUCATION AND VARIETY OF CLASS OFFERINGS FOR THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE FOR PUR STUDENTS..

What are your long term goals? ADVANCE PLANNING FOR FACILITY NEEDS AND CURRICULUM OPTIONS THAT PLAN FOR COMMUNITY AND ENROLLMENT CHANGES.

Where would you like to see the district at in ten years? HIGH QUALITY FACILITIES AND CURRICULUM OFFERINGS INCLUDING ADDITIONAL DUAL CREDIT OFFERINGS TO HELP FAMILIES WITH THE COST OF COLLEGE.

What Is one thing you would change about the schools in St. Joseph? I AM NOT SURE I HAVE AN ANSWER HERE. I AM PROUD OF OUR TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS AND WHAT WE HAVE BUILT WITH THE BUDGET WE HAVE AVAILABLE WHILE STILL KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY REAL ESTATE TAX RATE AT A CONSISTENT LEVEL.

What are the most pressing issues facing the district? ANNUAL EDUCATION FUND BUDGET AND BALANCING THE NEEDS OF OUR TEACHERS WIRH THE AVAILABLE OPERATING FUNDS OF THE DISTRICT.

What is the best thing about the school in St. Joseph? THE TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY

Why should people vote for you? MY EXPERIENCE AS A CPA GIVES ME INSIGHT INTO THE FINANCIALS CHALLENGES OF THE DISTRICT.

How will you make sure you work for the public and are accessible to your constituents? CONSTANTLY REMINDING MYSELF OF THE GOAL AND RESPONSIBILITY OF A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER. THE QUALITY OF OUR ADMINISTRATION AND OTHER BOARD MEMBERS MAKES EACH OF US ACCOUNTABLE TO EACH OTHER AS WELL AS OUR STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY.
