Get to know Matt Walsh

Matt is running for St. Joseph Village Trustee as a Republican.

What is the best thing about St. Joseph?

I think the best thing about Saint Joseph are the people that live in the community. The village is full of kindhearted people willing to help out their friends and neighbors.

What do you think is an immediate need for the village?

I believe that an immediate need for the village would be more locally owned businesses to come to town.

Where would you like to see the village in ten years?

In 10 years, I would love to see the village have growth, not only with our population, but with our businesses as well.

Why should people vote for you?

I think people should vote for me because I’m fairly levelheaded person who is born and raised in this community and I have the communities best interest at heart.

How will you make sure you are in tune with the public and are accessible to your constituents?

I’m a very easy person to get a hold of. I want to make sure that everyone in the village knows that if they have concerns, I will happily sit down and have a conversation with them about whatever troubling them.

What is your opinion on the proposed TIF?

I understand that the TIF is a hot button issue with a lot of people in the village. I spoke with Jim Page about some of the details involved with the TIF And he was able to clear up some of my confusion on the matter. I think it’s a necessity for the growth of our village.
