Get to know Emily Harms.

Emily is running for Multi-Township Tax Assessor.

1. Can you provide us a little biographical information?

My name is Emily Harms. I live in Royal with Dillon and our *almost* 2 year old daughter, Vivian. I have been a lifelong resident of the area, attending PVO grade/junior school and SJO high school. I am currently in my 6th year as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public schools.

2. Can you describe for people what the tax assessor does?

A tax assessor determines the value of real property within a township for the purpose of calculating property taxes.

3. What changes would you like to make to the office?

I’m a neighbor, homeowner, and taxpayer just like you. I am running to bring integrity and accuracy to the office. I want to ensure Ogden, Stanton, and Somer townships exhibit fair property assessments and financial responsibility.

4. How will you make sure you are accessible to your constituents?

I am active in the community and welcome conversation. I am accessible via phone, email, and in person.
