Dairy Barn still for sale

The Sidney Dairy Barn is still for sale.

Listed for sale in mid-June, the iconic ice cream stand has yet to find a buyer.

When Champaign Realtor Steve Littlefield posted the news that he would be listing property he got five calls within three hours about it.

“Interest has been very strong,” he said. “I continue to get calls every day.”
The Dairy Barn is listed for $500,000. The listing includes the main Dairy Barn building, the drive-thru and two Moo Mobiles. It also includes the equipment and recipes.

“You could start up the next day and not miss a beat,” Littlefield said. “I believe one of the biggest assets is the goodwill that Dennis and the Dairy Bar have created over the 27 years.”

Littlefield said it meant a lot to him that Dairy Barn owner Dennis Riggs chose them to list the property.

“For a person who has put 27 years of his life into a business and then select myself and my team to help him sell it is very special for us,” he said.

Littlefield said the perfect buyer would share Riggs’ love for the business.

“I would love to see someone who has the passion for the business and the people that the current owner has had since day one,” he said. “That would definitely be a win win.”
