Allen reflects on Addams Family performance

Logan Allen loved performing with his friends.

Allen played Lucas in the Addams Family which the St. Joseph-Ogden Drama Department produced this past weekend.

“My favorite part of this show has been being to able to do this whole thing with a bunch of people I have been friends with for a while,” Allen said. “Whether that’s my Mal and Alice, or Wednesday, or Gomez and Morticia, everybody in this cast I’ve known since I joined this program. This show has allowed me to expand on those friendships and it’s been a blast doing so.”

Allen said the most challenging part of the show has been actually learning to act and how to not laugh at the jokes during the performance.

“I’m the kind of person who will double over in laughter at anything that is just slightly funny, so this show has been a challenge for that,” he said.

Allen said his character meant well and always tried his best.

“But he can’t help wanting to be different,” he said. “And that’s where Wednesday comes in.”
Allen said the show was one to remember.

“There’s dancing, there’s a beautiful set, a wonderful script, and I believe this show is the perfect send-off to this space,” he said. “Throughout the whole show, we use the entire room to build the story and to put on the best show that we possibly can.”
