Celebrity bartenders to raise money for charity

Local celebrities will be behind the bar at The Ribcage tonight.

The Celebrity Bartending event will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. said Steve Littlefield of Littlefieldhomes.

“My team will take turns along with help from The Ribcage staff,” Littlefield said. “We are always trying find ways to give back to our communities. I had heard of Celebrity Bartending years ago and we thought it would be fun.”

The event will benefit Honor Flight, a non-profit organizations dedicated to transporting as many United States military veterans as possible to see the memorials of the respective war they fought in Washington, DC, at no cost to the veterans and a scholarship at St. Joseph-Ogden High School that will support students going into the trades.
Littlefield said Anthony Laubscher, co-owner of The Ribcage, was very supportive of the idea.

“We were both talking about the event one evening and both agreed that a Veteran group should be one of the charities,” Littlefield said. “The Honor Flight is such a deserving group. They take planeloads of Veterans to Washington DC to see the national memorials. This is very near to our hearts.”

Funds from the vent, which will also include a special menu, will also go to a scholarship at SJO for students going into the trades.

“There are so many opportunities for scholarships for students going on to college, however, there are very few for graduates exploring trades as their careers,” Littlefield said.

Littlefield said people can expect a good time and good food that benefits two good causes.

“Hopefully, our service or your generosity will want you to tip us. If nothing else, come on out to give us a friendly hard time,” he said. “The Littlefield Group has always been excited and proud about being a part of this community and we are looking forward to having some fun, however more importantly helping these two great opportunities.”
