Improvements coming to rail trail

Improvements to the Kickapoo Rail Trail will be starting in September.

With the assistance of the Illinois Department of Transportation and generous donors, the Champaign County Forest Preserve District will be installing amenities along the trail in Champaign County. These amenities include seating areas, interpretive signage, directional signage, mile markers, bike parking, and a parking lot with a fix-it station in downtown St.
Joseph.

Most site work will be completed in the early fall, so please use caution on the trail while work
proceeds. No significant trail closures are anticipated as a result of the work. Updates will be posted online at onekrt.org and on the Kickapoo Rail Trail Facebook and Instagram pages.
