Where to see Fireworks

Area residents have numerous chances to see fireworks this weekend. This post is sponsored by Island Travel Group and Events.

July 3
Fisher Fireworks: The fireworks take place at the Fisher Fairgrounds at dusk.


Monticello Freedom Fest:
The event takes place at Lodge Park and includes fireworks, food and activities. Free admission.


Rantoul Freedom Celebration:
The event takes place from 4-11 p.m. at the Hap Family Aquatic Center and includes a car show, free pool admission, inflatables, live bands, track and field exhibition and kids activities, food vendors, volleyball tournament, monster truck rides and fireworks at dusk. A parade will take place on July 4 at 9:30 a.m.


July 4:

Champaign County Freedom Celebration: Event begins at 7 p.m. with music on the main stage on Kirby Avenue and inflatables. Fireworks around 9:15 p.m.


Fourth of July in Homer:
Homer celebrates the fourth with a parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks at dusk at village hall.


Oakwood Fourth of July:
Oakwood celebrates the holiday with a parade at 11 a.m. and activities at 4:30 p.m. in the park.


Freedom Fest at Lake of the Woods:
Kids activities, food, music and fireworks at dusk. Admission is $2 with five and under free.


July 5:

Clinton Fireworks: Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.


July 6:

Tuscola Sparks in the Park: The event includes a 5K, parade at 10 a.m, kids activities at 11 a.m., music and fireworks at Ervin Park at dusk.
Thunder over Lake Vermillion: $5 admission fee, kids 10 and under free. Show starts at dusk.


July 7:

Villa Grove Freedom Festival: Fireworks at dusk in Richman Park.
