10 things you don’t know about me… Tammie Mabry

In honor of teacher appreciation week we asked one of our favorite teachers to tell us 10 things we didn’t know about her.

This post is sponsored by the St. Joseph Dairy Queen.

1. As my son said, I’m pretty open, so if you don’t know something you’re probably free to ask.

2. I love playing in the dirt and hanging out in the woods. I call it all gardening and camping, so I can get away with it.

3. I’m the oldest of my brother and our 12 cousins.

4. I started dating my husband of almost 22 years, Matt, when I was 17 years old.

5. I live .9 miles from my parents. My dad measured.

6. My kids are finishing their freshman years, Charlie at SJO and Samantha at EIU.

7. I’m from the SJO class of 1992 and was a member of the dance team.

8. I am a Gold Award Girl Scout.

9. I have a Saint Bernard, and she is my favorite.

10. I teach because it’s how I get to spend my days with kids. I am finishing my 22nd year of teaching. My first class from Fisher will be turning 30 soon. From 2nd grade to 7th grade, they are my favorite part of the job. I genuinely care about them and hope they know that.
