Live at St. Joe Village Board

We are here are village board. The COVID door is not unlocked so knock if you plan on coming in and I will let you in. πŸ™‚

Or just come in the main village hall door like I did.

The new deputy is Joel King. He is here for the next six months. #welcome

Mayors desk: The first thing they are discussing are crossing guards. The village pays for crossing guards at Ethel and Rt. 150 #safetyfirst

β€œWith the new school schedule, there will probably be a need for additional crossing guards.”

It could double what we pay for crossing guards because they could have to be out there twice as much.

Discussing a meeting Tami had with the Central Illinois Land Bank.

The tractor pull is not going to happen. The organizers got frustrated with the overall situation because it became very complicated with the requirements, ect. Tami saying public health told them they couldn’t do it, then asked for a game plan-which they were given including a layout of the park, CUPH responded with nine comments, ect.

They are still working on the job description for the village administrator.

They are discussing the appropriation ordinance. The appropriation is what they can spend not what they have to spend.

Luke Fisher is discussing how hypodermic needles are being flushed down the toilet and becoming entangled in lift stations. “I am urging the public to dispose of their needles appropriately. Do not flush needles down the toilet.”

Fisher was doing routine maintenance and found six needles entangled today.

Tami giving a shoutout to the girl scouts who are doing amazing work at the parks!

Back to the needles- the village will be purchasing containers for residents to dispose of their needles. Davis is stressing the village is not supporting drug use but wants to protect employees. Davis said he would be responsible for emptying the containers.

Nothing on food trucks tonight. #imsadtoo

Utility Easement! “We have been working to have a new member on drainage commission.”

BJ HACKLER has agreed to serve on the drainage commission. #doweknowhim? #hesoundsfamilar

He has to be approved by the county board. #shoein #letsmakeithappen

This is the shortest board meeting in the history of the world. #sadness
