Food pantry in need of donations

The shelves are almost bare at the St. Joseph Community Food Pantry.

The pantry, housed in the St. Joseph Church of Christ, is in immediate need of cereal, granola bars, breakfast cookies, pop tarts, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, napkins, cake mixes, frosting, brownie mix, canned pasta, applesauce,  canned meat, spaghetti sauce, Knorr’s Pasta Sides, Ramen noodles, juice, fruit snacks and individual fruit servings.

The pantry is also in need of dish soap, window cleaner, sponges, bathroom cleaner, hygiene items such as deodorant, shampoo, soap, body wash, toothpaste, lotions, body wash, bandaids, laundry detergent.

They do not need beans, mac & cheese, and canned vegetables at this time.

Donations can be dropped off at Longview Bank, Gifford State Bank, Busey Bank, A J Station, St. Joseph Auto and Diesel, The St. Joseph Township Library, and local churches.  Monetary Donations (checks payable to St. Joseph Community Food Pantry) can be mailed to or hand delivered to:  St. Joseph Community Food Pantry, c/o St. Joseph Church of Christ, 226 E Sherman, St. Joseph, IL  61873.
