10 things you don’t know about me… Kelly Cooper

Ogden Village Trustee Kelly Cooper was elected in 2017. Since then she has worked diligently to make sure Ogden has a yearly festival. This year the Ogden Street Fest will take place on Aug. 24. Here are 10 facts about Kelly.

This post is sponsored by the St. Joseph Dairy Queen.

I have two dogs (Smokey & Bandit) that keep me very occupied. Smokey if an English Mastiff that is mellow. Bandit is a full blooded Bloodhound that is very active and curious of things.

I was elected as a Village of Ogden Trustee in 2017.

When I was elected I made a promise to bring activity back to the community. I am the head of the Ogden Street Fest which takes place on August 24 this year. Last year we had a decent turn out and a great feedback.

I am terrified of the reptile family, yet I loved my Bearded Dragon Lizard that I had for 13 years.

My favorite past time things to do are spend time with the puppies, read, cook and bake.

I like to take a cake recipe and see how I can turn it into a cookie or a cupcake with accompanying frosting.

I was born and raised in Champaign County and the furthest I have traveled was to Maine.

In the spring I like to plant a garden to have fresh tomatoes and other vegetables either to can or just eat.

I work a part-time cooking / bartending job at Freeman’s in Royal for the past 13 years.

I like going to car shows and seeing all the old collector cars and meeting people.

I am a very crafty person who likes to look at ideas and then come home and recreate them.
