Fire Wives holding fundraiser

For just $10 someone could win a $300 gift card to Busch Stadium, an overnight trip to the Peoria Casino or four tickets to the Magic House in St. Louis.

Basically, there is something for everyone which was the point, said Fire Wife Tribe member Vickie Reese.

“The Fire Wives wanted to do a ‘fun’draiser and have a prize for every age group. We are an organization focused on children, but believe family is first so we wanted to have a choice for everyone,” she said.

Reese said there are 150 tickets still available for the drawing that will take place Oct. 14.

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25.

Raffle winners will be allowed to pick their prize, Reese said.

The first winner will be allowed to pick their prize, the second winner will get the choice of two prizes and the third will get the final prize.

“We feel there isn’t a bad prize to win,” she said. “They also make good Christmas gifts if you yourself aren’t able to use them.”

Reese said the Fire Wives went the extra mile to find prizes that had lengthy expiration dates or no expiration dates at all.

The funds raised will be used to host community events in 2022.

“We have a ton of ideas,” Reese said. “ We are looking at creating more seasons of giving and family as the Fire Wives and our families feel there can never be enough of Look for another fun event next summer. And here’s a hint—we want to bring back some old by creating new.”

The Fire Wives will host Holly Jolly Kids Christmas on Dec. 11, 2021.

The event will include a pancake breakfast and will include cookie decorating and more children’s events.

Tickets can be purchased from any Fire Wife and you can message the St Joseph-Stanton Fire Wife Tribe on Facebook to purchase tickets.
