Salon 192 to hold food drive

Amy Gibbons wants to help people.

Gibbons, the owner of Salon 192 on Lincoln Street in St. Joseph, has organized a food drive in St. Joseph.

The salon will accept cash or food donations which will benefit the local food pantry.

For five food items, a person will receive one entry into a raffle for a gift basket. A $10 donation also equals one entry. The gift baskets include items from the salon, Rochs, Wyldewood Cellars, Geschenk, Primal Balance Massage, Bare Waxing Studio, Dairy Queen, Wagners, El Toro, Neubaurs Barber Shop, Robyn’s Nest, Monicals Pizza, Scratch and Chic and Threads Boutique

“This year has been rough for everyone there are a lot of people unable to work or who have been off work,” Gibbons said. “It’s a time of year nobody should have to worry about food on the table or gifts for their kids.”

Gibbons said she hopes the drive will help those who that are worried about providing for their families.

“ If everyone could give a little maybe others wouldn’t have to worry as much right now,” she said. “I thought the gift baskets would be a fun incentive as well as a way to promote all the small business.”
