Bagby selected as winner of Chamber Scholarship

Goals are nothing new to St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Cassidy Bagby.

As a varsity cross country and track athlete she sets goals every season.

As a student-athlete she sets goals for her self in the classroom.

And now she has set goals for herself in college.

These goals are part of the reason she was selected to receive the 2019 Chamber of Commerce Scholarship.

Bagby will be attending Indiana State University in the fall to study communications with a minor in political science as well as competing on the school’s cross county and track teams.

“I am nervous, but excited to start my college life, which will consist of making new friends and growing as a person,” Bagby said.

Babgy said that she has many long-term goals including finishing her college degree.

“I’d love to use my communications degree to bring knowledge to the world about what is happening in the political science part of our nation,” Bagby said. “In 10 years I see myself still being the hard worker I am today, just with a college degree instead of one still working on her high school diploma.”

Bagby will be honored at the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce Banquet on April 25 at the Wheelhouse.
