10 things about me….. Dana Rowland

You may know Dana Rowland as the co-chair of the SJO Post Prom Cash Bash but now you can get to know her as the Chamber of Commerce Greeter! Rowland will visit new businesses and residents in town to tell them how awesome St. Joseph is!

She also agreed to tell us 10 things about herself this week.

I married my high school sweetheart and we have two kids.  My daughter, Libby, is a senior and my son, Bobby, is in 8th grade.  We also have a standard schnauzer named Rebel.


I love using essential oils and my family and friends call them my potions.


I hate putting my hand in to a bag of chips or any kind of snack.  I will either pour them in a bowl or cut the top of the bag off.


I was the PTC President for six years and started Blessings in a Backpack.

 Now that my kids are growing up, I missed being at the school so I just recently started substitute teaching.


I’m very picky about what restaurants I eat at and read the health department inspections like novels.  I used to have my food sanitation license and after taking those classes, I’m definitely more particular.


I am a horrible traveler.  I’m fine once I get to my destination but getting me there is another story!  


I love to plan big events and parties.  I dream of owning a big building I could rent out and plan events at, I even have a Pinterest board full of building plans.


I like to bake and do crafts. My favorite stores are Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.


I read before bed every night and go through about one or two books a week. I would love to write a book one day.


When we moved here in 2005, we were welcomed by a very nice Village Greeter and when she left I told my husband that one day when our kids were older, I would love to have that job.
